At the end of 2017, the Trustees started a development campaign to maintain and extend The Perins MAT sports and arts provision and facilities, and established the Sports and Arts Foundation (SAF) as a restricted fund within the MAT. We believe deeply in the importance of extra-curricular activities in the development of rounded, resilient and confident young people able to fulfil their potential in life and work.

 

We are recognised nationally for our excellent academic standards as well as our outstanding provision within sports, drama, music, arts and a host of other activities. Whatever the passion is within the child, we will do everything in our power to enhance this; to fully realise their potential and ensure that they have the strongest foundation for their future lives.

At a time of tight budgets, when many schools are cutting back on activities like drama, art, music, dance and a range of different sports, Trustees are determined to ensure that The Perins MAT continues to offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities in facilities which can benefit our students. 

​

Furthermore, Perins and Sun Hill Junior School  are both community schools, with a Pre-school and gym across our sites.  We share our sports facilities with other schools, clubs and the wider community. Improvements we can make to both schools benefit the whole community.

Plans and Aspirations

Our first plan is for a new Astro pitch, after that, our aspirations extend in the future, when funding allows, to additional Sports Facilities, as well as a Performing Arts Centre.

Developments

The efforts of students, staff, parents and generous donors in the wider community have enabled the SAF to raise over £30,000 so far. Some of this has been spent on new football goals for the existing Astro whilst we raise the much larger sums needed for its replacement.
